  • Continuum Reef Basis Strontium

    $81.00$137.00

    The Continuum advantage.

Reef•Basis Strontium is a high purity strontium in dry form, designed to safely raise the strontium level in marine aquariums, providing essential strontium for aragonite formation and coral and other invertebrate growth. It contains no acetate, EDTA, polygluconates and is much stronger than many competitor’s products because it is made from anhydrous salts, not hydrated salts.

    Use in aquarium keeping.

Continuum recommends that you maintain a strontium level of 8 to 13 mg/L (ppm), a calcium level of between 410 and 450 mg/L (ppm), an alkalinity level of 7 to 11 dKH (2.5 to 4 meq/L), and a magnesium level of 1250 to 1350 mg/L (ppm). Note: Aquarists keeping SPS corals should consider keeping alkalinity at 7 to no more than 9 dKH (2.5 to 3.21 meq/L).

    Directions and protocol.

Dissolve 1/2 gram, about 1/8 teaspoon of product in 8 oz. ( 236 ml )purified water. Add in an area of high flow directly to tank for each 20 gallons capacity, every other day until the desired Strontium level is reached. For best results, measure the strontium concentration and add as necessary to maintain between 8 and 13 mg/L (ppm).

    Expert use.

To dose, determine the amount of strontium consumption during the time it takes add the entire volume of your drip system. Determine the amount of Reef•Basis Strontium to add to your drip system in grams by multiplying your tank capacity in gallons by the amount you want to raise it in mg/l (ppm) and by 0.0074. ( Example: if you have a 20 gallon tank and you want to raise the level by 3 mg/l (ppm) with the entire dose, you would multiply 20 x .0074 x 3 which equals .44 grams or about 1/8 teaspoon of Reef•Basis Strontium.

Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Product gets hot when mixed with water. Not for human consumption. Contains strontium chloride, if ingested drink water. If in eyes flush with water.

  • Continuum Bacter Clean M

    $21.00$37.00

    The Continuum advantage.

Bacter Clean•M is a unique marine microbial culture and enzyme product specifically designed to target and clean surfaces of live rock, coral decorations and tank walls, removing stains, loosening and softening debris for easy vacuuming and providing a cleaner, more pristine environment. It will outcompete unwanted substances and loosen the grip of ugly accumulations and coatings making their removal by scraping or vacuuming easy. Its exclusive bacterial formula does much of the work for you, to help provide the beautiful reef or marine aquarium you have always wanted. It will also rapidly breakdown organic waste, leftover food, debris and detritus in marine aquariums, providing essential water quality improvement.

    Use in aquarium keeping.

Continuum recommends that you filter tap makeup water by reverse osmosis, distillation or deionization along with carbon pre-filtration to prevent adding phosphates and silicates to your aquarium. Continuum recommends a phosphate level of less than .02 mg/l (ppm). If you have high phosphate or silicate levels, you can lower them rapidly by using Continuum Captiv•Phos W or Captiv•Phos Fe or liquid Phos•Correx prior to or while using this product. The use of nerite snails, turbo snails, emerald crabs and other grazers is also recommended. Although not required, it would be advantageous to first use Continuum Redox Plus to lower the organic load of the aquarium and to raise the ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) and then wait 2 hours before using this product for the first time. Continuum also recommends that you consider using Reef Micro•Fuel, along with the Bacter Clean•M, as an organic carbon source to accelerate the growth and increase the effectiveness of the bacteria in this product. Bacter Clean•M can be used simultaneously with BacterGen•M and BacterGen•MD. If using simultaneously, cut the dosage of each of the other bacterial products in half, and use on different days.

    Directions and protocol.

Place 1 cup (250 ml) of marine aquarium water into a container. Shake product well. Add the recommended amount (see below) of capfuls or ml of Bacter Clean•M to the container of aquarium water. Stir and allow to stand for a few minutes. Add to aquarium in desired location. If also using with BacterGen•M and/or BacterGen•MD, stop their use during the initial two weeks, then cut the addition of those products in half, and use them on different days.

    Recommended amounts.

To rapidly clean aquariums: 6 capfuls (30 ml or one ounce) initially on the first day, then add 1 capful (5 ml) of Bacter Clean•M for every 25 US gallons (100 L) of aquarium volume, daily for 2 weeks or longer, as necessary to achieve your goals. It is important to do a 10-20% water change, using a quality salt mix, after each 2 weeks of high dosage use, vacuuming all debris and undesirable materials from the live rocks and decorations. At this time, unwanted substances should begin to loosen and come off the rocks easily. Daily use may be continued as long as needed, if desired.

Maintenance Dosage: 4 capfuls (20 ml) of Bacter Clean•M for every 25 US gallons (100 L) of aquarium volume once a week or 3 ml per day.

Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption. Contains non-pathogenic microbes and enzymes. If in eyes flush with water, if irritation continues, seek medical attention.

  • Continuum BacterGen M

    $19.00$35.00

    The Continuum advantage.

BacterGen•M is a breakthrough in microbial cultures and is specifically designed for marine aquariums. Whereas most competing products, designed primarily for freshwater aquariums, rarely work well in saltwater environments, BacterGen•M will quickly generate effective bacterial populations in seawater. BacterGen•M rapidly establishes nitrifying biological filtration in new marine aquariums, greatly reducing the time it takes to cycle the system. It is also designed to deliver bacteria to digest leftover food, decaying organic material and detritus in established marine fish and reef aquariums, providing for a cleaner environment for your aquarium inhabitants. Whereas competing products may increase the production of toxic hydrogen sulfide in the system, BacterGen•M is non-sulfur fixing and will reduce it to near zero. BacterGen•M contains both aerobic and anaerobic microbes which will generate new populations and greatly increase existing bacterial populations to establish and accelerate nitrification and denitrification, lowering ammonia, and nitrites, as well as lowering phosphates, nitrates and organic pollutants significantly.

    Use in aquarium keeping.

Aquarium systems accumulate waste from uneaten food and other organic material. Over time, this accumulation lowers water quality, releases toxic gases into the water, and creates sludge on the bottom. The addition of a high quality microbe culture, such as BacterGen•M will cause a rapid increase in the population of beneficial microorganisms with a resulting increase in water clarity and a drop in unbeneficial nutrients, particularly ammonia and nitrogen compounds as well as phosphates. Continuum recommends that you consider using Reef Micro•Fuel, along with the BacterGen•M, as an organic carbon source to accelerate the growth and maintenance of both aerobic and anaerobic bacterial populations in your aquarium.

    Directions and protocol.

Place 1 cup (250 ml) of marine aquarium water into a container. Shake product well. Add the recommended amount (see below) of capfuls or ml of BacterGen•M to the container of aquarium water. Stir and allow to stand for a few minutes. Add to aquarium in desired location. It is usually best to add to biological filtration material, if this is possible or in a low flow area that will lead directly to the biological filter, but do not add directly to a pump intake. In reef aquaria, add around the porous liverock, also. In new setups, soak new biological filtration material in BacterGen•M for an hour, and then add what is left of the soak to the system.

    Recommended amounts.

To establish new aquariums: 1 capful (5 ml) of BacterGen•M for every 25 US gallons (100 L) of aquarium volume, daily for 2 weeks or longer, if necessary.

Medium to heavily loaded aquariums to reduce sludge and waste: 1 capful (5 ml) of BacterGen•M for every 25 US gallons (100 L) of aquarium volume daily as necessary.

Low nutrient aquariums: 1 capful (5 ml) of BacterGen•M for every 50 US gallons (200 L) of aquarium volume once or twice a week.

Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption. Contains non-pathogenic microbes. If in eyes flush with water, if irritation continues, seek medical attention.

  • Continuum BacterGen MD

    $19.00$35.00

    The Continuum advantage.

BacterGen•MD is a breakthrough in microbial cultures and is specifically designed to establish anaerobic bacteria populations in denitrators and anoxic zones (those zones that are depleted in dissolved oxygen), such as internal pores in live rock and to establish anoxic slime layers within all zones, even within zones otherwise saturated with oxygen. BacterGen•MD does this by developing layers of bacterial slime to prevent oxygen availability to anaerobic microbes thereby encouraging denitration by conversion of nitrates to nitrogen gas. Whereas most competing products are designed primarily for freshwater aquariums, and most don’t do much to address nitrate reduction, BacterGen•MD will quickly generate effective anoxic zones and encourage beneficial denitrifying bacterial populations in seawater. Whereas competing products may increase the production of toxic hydrogen sulfide in the system, and denitrators, particularly those utilizing alcohol or sugar for fuel are known for hydrogen sulfide production, BacterGen•MD is non-sulfur fixing and will reduce hydrogen sulfide levels.

    Use in aquarium keeping.

BacterGen•MD is designed to seed new denitrators, as well as to form anoxic zones in other areas of marine aquariums. When seeding new denitrators, or re-starting an old unit, it is best to do this off line. Clean old denitrators first, to remove any buildup of organic material so that bacteria have clean surfaces for attachment. Fill the unconnected denitrator with aquarium water, then add this product. Since the bacteria will have no food, it is necessary to also add equal amounts of Reef Micro•Fuel, along with the BacterGen•MD, as an organic carbon source to accelerate the growth and maintenance of the new bugs. Let denitrator stand for 12 hours for establishment of new populations. IMPORTANT: Dispose of water in seeded denitrator and refill with fresh seawater from the aquarium. Place on line. CAUTION: adjust dripping system or system flow control for a very low level to start, and increase gradually per manufacturer’s instructions. Follow addition protocol immediately for direct addition of both BacterGen•MD and Reef Micro•Fuel. Denitrator will still require time to fully cycle, although this time will be greatly reduced.

    Directions and protocol.

Place 1 cup (250 ml) of marine aquarium water into a container. Shake product well. Add the recommended amount (see below) of capfuls or ml of BacterGen•MD to the container of aquarium water. Stir and allow to stand for a few minutes. Add to aquarium in desired location. It is usually best to add to denitrator intake if used, or in a low flow area that will lead directly to the denitration filter, but do not add directly to a pump intake. In reef aquaria, add around the porous liverock, also. In denitrators, see use instructions on other sidebar. BacterGen•MD may be used simultaneously with BacterGen•M. In this case reduce the dose of each product by half. To get the most out of this product, the use of Reef Micro•Fuel simultaneously is highly recommended.

    Recommended amounts.

Directly to the aquarium for Medium to heavily loaded aquariums to reduce nitrates: 1 capful (5 ml) of BacterGen•MD for every 50 US gallons (100 L) of aquarium volume daily as necessary.

Directly to the aquarium for Low nutrient aquariums or for maintenance of established aquariums: 1 capful (5 ml) of BacterGen•MD for every 100 US gallons (200 L) of aquarium volume once or twice a week or 1 to 2 ml per day.

New Denitration Filters: 1 capful (5 ml) of BacterGen•MD for every 100 US gallons (200 L) of aquarium volume and an equal amount of Reef Micro•Fuel directly to the filter, as directed above.

Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption. Contains non-pathogenic microbes. If in eyes flush with water, if irritation continues, seek medical attention.

  • Continuum Basis Borate Free Buffer – Powder

    $14.00$24.00

    The Continuum advantage.

Basis Borate Free Buffer is a high quality, multi-component blended true buffering system designed to raise the alkalinity or buffering capacity of marine fish and reef aquariums and automatically regulate the pH. It will hold pH stable over a wide range of conditions providing for safety of the entire system.

    Use in aquarium keeping.

Proper control of pH is one of the most critical functions of a marine fish or reef aquarium. Continuum recommends that you maintain an alkalinity level of 7 to 11 dKH (2.5 to 4 meq/L) and a pH of 8.3. *Note: Aquarists keeping SPS corals should consider keeping alkalinity at 7 to no more than 9 dKH (2.5 to 3.21 meq/L). Do not add simultaneously with calcium or mineral supplements, wait 30 minutes minimum and allow for plenty of circulation prior. Alternate days is even better. By waiting, you will avoid unnecessary precipitation and possible cloudiness.

    Directions and protocol.

Dissolve 2 grams, about 1/2 teaspoon of product in 8 oz. ( 236 ml ) purified water. Add in an area of high flow directly to the aquarium for each 20 gallons ( 76 L ) capacity, per day until the desired pH and KH are reached. For best results, measure the alkalinity and add as necessary to maintain the desired alkalinity between 7 and 11 dKH ( 2.5 to 4 meq/L ). * See note above.

    Expert use.

To dose, determine the amount of alkalinity consumption during the time it takes add the entire volume of your drip system. Determine the amount of Basis Borate Free Buffer to add to your drip system in grams by multiplying your tank capacity in gallons by the amount you want to raise it in meq/L by .32 or in dKH by .114 ( Example: if you have a 20 gallon tank and you want to raise the level by 1 meq/L with the entire dose, you would multiply 20 x .32 x 1 which equals 6.4 grams or about 1 teaspoon of Basis KH powder. Or if you want to raise it by 1 dKH, you would multiply 20 x .114 x 1 = 2.28 grams or about 1/3 teaspoon of Basis KH powder.)

Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption. Contains strongly alkaline carbonic acid salts, if ingested drink plenty of water, consult your medical practitioner. If in eyes flush with water for 15 minutes, if redness continues, consult your medical practitioner. If on skin flush with water.

  • Continuum Bio Viv Garlic

    $30.00$47.00

    The Continuum advantage.

Bio•Viv Garlic is made from over 99% pure pressed garlic. Unlike most competing products, no water is added, only a small amount of Vitamin C is added as a preservative. Also, garlic oil is not used because it requires the use of strong emulsifiers that can have a tendency to contaminate the aquarium.

    Use in aquarium keeping.

Bio•Viv Garlic is particularly recommended for fish that are finicky eaters. It is a strong attractant. Bio•Viv Garlic is also particularly recommended for aquariums suffering from ectoparasite infections. In this case, add it to the water as well as to the food. No medicinal claims are made in this regard, but fish that won’t eat, particularly those with parasites, don’t live long and garlic has long been used for this purpose, as well as an attractant, so fish may benefit from its natural properties. Bio•Viv Garlic does not require refrigeration, but refrigeration after opening is recommended and will prolong its shelf life significantly.

    Directions and protocol.

Shake well prior to use. Add 4 or more drops of Bio•Viv Garlic to dry, previously frozen, or live food as a soak and let stand for 15 minutes (45 minutes for live food), as an attractant for finicky eaters. For best results, also add 4 or more drops of our multivitamin Bio•Viv M for marines or Bio•Viv F for freshwater. Bio•Viv HUFA may be added to supply Omega 3 fatty acids, as well. Bio•Viv Garlic may also be be added directly to the aquarium. In this case, Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 50 US-gallons (200 L) of aquarium water 2 to 3 times per week.

Do not insert any tool into this bottle, particularly do not allow aquarium water to enter the bottle, to do so will introduce bacteria into the product and accelerate its decomposition. Instead, add appropriate amount of Bio•Viv Garlic into a cup. Feed all that you add or pour and do not return any product to the container (again to prevent contamination).

Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption. If ingested drink water. If in eyes flush with water.

  • Continuum Bio Viv HUFA – 60ml

    $19.00

    The Continuum advantage.

Bio•Viv HUFA essential lipid and vitamin complex provides essential Omega-3 fatty acids, DHA and EPA for growth and health of all fishes. It is particularly recommended for fish suffering from HLLE, head and lateral line erosion as a dietary supplement, and for immune system support. No medicinal claims are made for this use. It is designed to work with Bio•Viv M or F multivitamin and results will be enhanced by simultaneous use. It does not require refrigeration, but refrigeration after opening will prolong its shelf life significantly. Bio•Viv HUFA contains no glycerin, polysorbates or sugars.

    Use in aquarium keeping.

Bio•Viv HUFA will help prevent deficiencies of essential oils. These oils are normally found in natural food sources in the ocean, but may not be present in dry, frozen or even live food sources, or at least in sufficient quantities to satifsy marine or freshwater fishes needs. Essential oil deficiencies can be responsible or a contributing cause for diseases in aquatic animals, just as in humans. It is prudent for the hobbyist to pay close attention to the variety, and quality of foods for both fishes and invertebrates, and the addition of Bio•Viv HUFA and Bio•Viv M or Bio•Viv F will help make sure that your animals get the broad range of vitamins and essential nutrients that they need without overloading the aquarium with unwanted ingredients.

    Directions and protocol.

Shake very well prior to use. Add 1 or more drops of Bio•Viv HUFA to dry, previously frozen, or live food as a soak and let stand for 15 minutes (45 minutes for live food). For best results, also add 4 or more drops of our marine multivitiman Bio•Viv M for marines or Bio•Viv F for freshwater. Similarly, use to fortify liquid food supplements. May be mixed with our Bio•Viv Garlic as an attractant for finicky eaters. Bio•Viv HUFA is not meant to be added directly to the aquarium and is too strong for such use.

Do not insert any tool into this bottle, particularly do not allow aquarium water to enter the bottle, to do so will introduce bacteria into the product and accelerate its decomposition. Instead, add appropriate amount of Bio•Viv HUFA into a cup. Feed all that you add or pour and do not return any product to the container (again to prevent contamination).

    The Continuum advantage.

Clarion Marine is a technologically advanced, premium quality, maximum strength clarifier that immediately and safely begins flocculate dirt, bacteria, parasites, and other debris or cloudiness causing particles into clumps that can easily be removed by a good mechanical filter with fine filter floss. It is not an algaecide. It is a high tech, long chain polymer that is safe for sensitive invertebrates and marine fish. Contains no aluminum, silicates, phosphates or nitrates. 100% biodegradable.

    Use in aquarium keeping.

Caution: Green water in a marine aquarium is a sign of a serious and dangerous condition. It may indicate seriously low oxygen levels and high ammonia levels. If you use this product for green water, clean the filter media regularly, and test the system for high nitrite and ammonia levels. If found, treat immediately with Fraction per the directions on the label and if necessary, initiate large partial water changes. Gasping fish may need to be removed to another system until the condition can be brought under control. Clarion is not meant as a substitute for good maintenance practices. Aquariums that get cloudy often are a sign that other issues need to be addressed, such as increased filtration, less feeding, not overstocking and possibly lowering chemical additions, temporarily.

    Directions and protocol.

  • Continuum Coral Elements Amino – 60ml

    $48.50

    The Continuum advantage.

Coral Elements•Amino is a free form amino acid complex that closely replicates the amino acid profile of hard coral tissue. It encourages new coral tissue growth and vibrant coloration, by providing solubilized proteins in a readily absorbable form. It is particularly useful for newly fragged corals or those that have been damaged in shipping, injured, grazed upon or that have been subject to bleaching in that it makes the job of nutrient uptake and tissue repair much easier for the animal. (However, compromised animals may require medication, other nutrients and special treatment beyond what this product can do. No claims are made that such animals will recover.)

    Use in aquarium keeping.

During times of stress or rapid growth, Corals can utilize free form amino acids directly from this product, with minimal digestion required, rather than having to rely on their zooxanthellae alone. It is also useful as a regular regimen to assist in normal growth and coloration. In addition to Coral Elements•Amino, it is recommended that you also add Coral•Elements N to provide coral specific minerals and vitamins. When using this product as a food, Continuum recommends that the hobbyist vary the types and sizes of foods delivered into the reef aquarium. Other Continuum foods that make good choices for this food rotation include Coral Exponential, Ocean Snow, Micro•Blast, Zoo•Blast and Phyto•Blast. Also, occasionally blending the foods and using them as soaks for other foods will give your invertebrates a variety simulating nature. Vary the time of day for feeding, as well, being sure to feed at night for those organisms that primarily feed nocturnally. Many corals feed primarily at night, extending their tentacles and mesentarial filaments, using their nematocysts to capture prey, and entrapping prey on their sticky tentacles with mucus and drawing it into their mouths.

    Directions and protocol.

Shake well prior to use. Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 50 US-gallons (200 L) of marine aquarium water 2 to 3 times per week, in an area of high flow. This product works wonderfully as a food soak or if added to food soak.

    Expert use.

Target feeding is the best method of addition. Use a turkey baster, pipette, or similar tool to release upstream of animals to be fed. Do not touch corals with tool. Do not allow aquarium water to enter the bottle, to do so will introduce bacteria into the product and accelerate its decomposition. Instead, drop or pour appropriate amount of Coral Elements•Amino into a cup and use any tool in the cup. Feed all that you pour and do not return any product to the container (again to prevent contamination).

  • Continuum Coral Elements N

    $16.50$44.00

    The Continuum advantage.

Coral Elements•N vitamin and mineral micronutrient complex replaces crucial minor and trace minerals lost to carbon filtration, protein skimming and ozone and provides essential vitamins for growth of live corals and other invertebrates. It contains no heavy metals, phosphates, silicates, gluconates, or polygluconates.

    Use in aquarium keeping.

Corals acquire vitamins and minerals directly from the surrounding seawater, as well as from ingested food. Regular addition of Coral Elements•N vitamin and mineral micronutrient complex provides for availablity of these nutrients. Minerals influence the coloration of all marine species including corals and clams and are important in many of the chemical reactions that take place in living tissues. In addition to Coral Elements•N, we recommend that you also use Coral Exponential to provide needed amino acids for coral tissue growth. The hobbyist should pay close attention to the alkalinity, or KH of the system and closely monitor the calcium, magnesium and strontium levels. Continuum recommends that you maintain a calcium level of between 410 and 450 mg/L (ppm), an alkalinity level of 7 to 11 dKH (2.5 to 4 meq/L), and a magnesium level of 1250 to 1350 mg/L (ppm). Note: Aquarists keeping SPS corals should consider keeping alkalinity at 7 to no more than 9 dKH (2.5 to 3.21 meq/L).

    Directions and protocol.

Shake well prior to use. Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 50 US-gallons (200 L) of marine aquarium water 1 to 2 times per week.

    Expert use.

Dosing through use of a drip system is a superior method of addition. Do not mix with buffers or alkalinity supplements prior to addition. You may mix it with strontium, magnesium, and many other supplements. See our website for compatibility of supplements. It is not possible, with current test kits, to measure the exact dosage of Coral Elements•N vitamin and trace minerals to add, so to dose, simply add the above amount to the doser. In other words, add 1 capful to the amount of solution that the doser will add in 2 to 4 days per 50 US-gallons (200 L) of marine aquarium water.

Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption. Contains trace minerals, if ingested drink water. If in eyes flush with water.

Do not insert tool into this bottle, particularly do not allow aquarium water to enter the bottle, to do so will introduce bacteria into the product and accelerate its decomposition. Instead, pour appropriate amount of Coral Exponential into a cup and use the tool in the cup. Feed all that you pour and do not return any product to the container (again to prevent contamination).

Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption. Contains coral food, if ingested drink water. If in eyes flush with water.

  • Continuum Coralline Purple CX

    $15.00$28.00

    The Continuum advantage.

Coralline Purple•CX is specifically designed to encourage and accelerate growth of purple and pink coralline algae without fertilizing green algae. Because it is made from expensive marine aragonite, with added supporting minerals, it will not pollute your system like inexpensive aquatic muds of terrestrial origin may. It is phosphate and nitrate free.

    Use in aquarium keeping.

Coralline Algae is not only beautiful in the marine aquarium, it takes up the space where unwanted organisms might normally grow. Because coralline algae is alive, it must be introduced into the aquarium by the addition of small pieces of live rock upon which it is already growing. This doesn’t take much. You may be able to get many different types growing on small chunks at your local aquarium store. Some coralline algae will grow with little or no lighting, while others seem to enjoy strong reef lighting. It is evident that lighting does play some role, so you should experiment with it. It is important to measure phosphates and keep the level as low as possible to encourage coralline algae growth. Continuum also recommends that you maintain a calcium level of between 410 and 450 mg/L (ppm), an alkalinity level of 7 to 11 dKH (2.5 to 4 meq/L), and a magnesium level of 1250 to 1350 mg/L (ppm). Note: Aquarists keeping SPS corals should consider keeping alkalinity at 7 to no more than 9 dKH (2.5 to 3.21 meq/L). Addition of Coralline Purple•CX at night will help balance pH and prevent night time pH decline. It will also allow time for the water to clear from the cloudiness that is inherent in dissolving the aragonite particles in the product.

    Directions and protocol.

Coralline Purple•CX will cloud the aquarium upon addition, it is therefore recommended that it be added a night in an area of strong flow. Shake vigorously immediately prior to use! Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 25 US-gallons (100 L) of marine aquarium water 3 to 4 times per week. Coralline Purple•CX will raise the calcium level in your aquarium. For best results, measure the calcium concentration and add as required to maintain the concentration between 410 and 450 mg/L (ppm).

This product is not suitable for use in most dosing systems because of the need for agitation, and should be added manually. Daily addition is preferable, though. Do not mix with any other supplements prior to addition.

Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption. Contains powdered aragonite and mineral salts, if ingested drink water. If in eyes flush with water for 15 minutes. If redness persists consult your healthcare practitioner.

  • Continuum Exxodus Phosphyx

    $57.00$104.00

    The Continuum advantage.

Exxodus•Phosphyx is an extremely porous filtration medium designed to be used in all aquariums and aquatic systems with a pH of 7.5 or higher,  for chemical filtration (phosphate & silicate removal). It literally has the highest surface area of any filtration medium in the world, by far, yet it provides excellent flow characteristics! Each liter of Exxodus•Phosphyx provides over 320,000 square feet of surface area internally for bacterial colonization and even more vast surface area due to GFO spicule and “fur” formation during the ceramic formation.

Exxodus•Phosphyx is unique in that it is doped with GFO (ferric oxyhydroxide) which is bound in the material as well as coated onto all the vast surface area and acts to remove unwanted phosphate and silicate from aquarium water more efficiently than any other known material. It works extremely well in nano aquariums, as well as systems of all sizes. It is particularly well suited to reef systems with live rock including FOWLR systems. Use in a canister filter, reactor, or other type of aquarium filter with slow to moderate water flow. Do not fluidize because the product may grind down or release particles into the aquarium due to mechanical action. It should be subjected to a low and non-turbulent flow rate, if possible.

    Use in aquarium keeping.

If corals react negatively to the material, it may be a sign that phosphate is being removed too aggressively. If this happens, remove the material for a couple of days and then replace only half as much as you were previously using.

    Directions and protocol.

Utilize a minimum of 160 ml (about 26 cubes) of Exxodus•Phosphyx for every 100 U.S. gallons, (400 L) of aquarium volume, more if phosphate levels or bioload dictates. Rinse Exxodus•Phosphyx gently in deionized or reverse osmosis water. If using for biological filtration, Pre-seed the product by placing it in a plastic bucket, submerged in aquarium water, and adding the recommended dose for your aquarium size of BacterClean or BacterGen. Allow the product to remain in this soak for 24 hours, stirring gently occasionally or agitating the liquid by pouring out and back into the container, gently. Place the seeded Exxodus•Phosphyx into your filter. The use of a pre-filtration filter floss, sponge or other mechanical pre-filtration is recommended to prevent fouling.

Caution: Do not fluidize or allow to abrade against moving parts. Material can wear down due to mechanical action, and produce dust and fines. Keep out of reach of children (contains iron). Not for human consumption. If ingested drink water, consult with a physician.
