  • Brightwell Aquatics Chaeto Gro

    $21.00$38.00

    Instructions Guidelines

ChaetoGro will help establish water chemistry conducive to long-term chaeotomorpha health and growth, helping it to efficiently control unwanted nutrients in the system, such as phosphate and nitrate. Shake product well before using. Basic: For the first 2 weeks of use, add 5ml (1 capful) of product per 20 US-gallons of aquarium volume twice each week; increase dosage thereafter depending upon perceived nutrient needs of chaeto algae. When used in this fashion, 500 ml treats up to 2,000 US-gallons (7,600 L). Advanced: Daily dosing is recommended, as it maintains a more stable and natural environment than dosing weekly, in which nutrient concentrations spike just after dosing and then gradually decrease throughout the course of the week. To dose daily, add 6 drops per 20 US-gallons per day; adjust dosing volume after one week in accordance with appearance of algae and perceived need for nutrients. Important: Brightwell recommends the use of MicroBacter7 and Reef Bio Fuel or Katalyst to maintain proper carbon levels for the Chaeto, as well as proper bacterial function in the system. For proper Chaeto growth, Brightwell recommends that the hobbyist maintain a minimum of .01 ppm phosphate and 3 to 5 ppm nitrates in the reef system. If levels fall below these values, proper nutrient control will not efficiently occur. If the levels are low, use NeoPhos or NeoNitro as directed on their labels, as necessary to bring them up to the proper level.

  • Brightwell Aquatics Ferrion

    $14.00$22.00

    Instructions and Guidelines

Basic: Shake product well before using. Add 5 ml (1 capful) of product per 50 US-gallons of aquarium water every other day or as needed to maintain the iron concentration within a range of 0.05 – 0.10 ppm. When used in this fashion, 250 ml treats up to 2,500 US-gallons (9,464 L).

Advanced: Determine the iron concentration in the aquarium using an accurate test kit before supplementing. Shake this product well before using. Each ml of Ferrion will increase the concentration of iron (“[Fe3+]”) in 1 US-gallon (3.785 L) of water by 1 ppm. It is advisable to ensure that the concentration of phosphate not exceed 0.05 ppm in the aquarium to be dosed with an iron supplement; see opposite sidebar for additional information. If the initial [Fe3+] in the aquarium is below 0.10 ppm, add this product at the maximum rate of 10 ml per 20 US-gallons daily until the desired concentration is attained, then dose daily or weekly as needed (see below). Always attempt to maintain the [Fe3+] within a range of +/-0.02 ppm. To determine the dosing rate of this product once the desired [Fe3+] has been acquired, measure the daily rate of iron uptake (i.e. the decrease in iron) in your aquarium by measuring the aquarium’s [Fe3+] at the same time each day over a one- to two-week period. To determine the daily dosing rate (preferable to weekly dosing) for iron maintenance: estimate the volume of water in the entire aquarium system; multiply this number by the volume of water in the system to get the daily dosage required (ml) to maintain a stable [Fe3+]. Daily dosing maintains a more stable [Fe3+] (and more natural environment) than dosing weekly, in which the [Fe3+] spikes just after dosing and then gradually decreases throughout the course of the week.

  • Brightwell Aquatics Potassion

    $16.00$28.00

    Instructions and Guidelines

Note that the natural seawater concentration of potassium is ~399 ppm; maintaining the potassium concentration in marine aquaria as closely to this value as possible is recommended.

Basic: Shake product well before using. Add 5 ml (1 capful) of product per 50 US-gallons of aquarium water every other day or as needed to maintain the potassium concentration within a range of 390 – 410 ppm. When used in this fashion, 250 ml treats up to 2,500 US-gallons
    (9,464 L).

Advanced: Determine the potassium concentration in the aquarium using an accurate test kit before supplementing. Shake this product well before each use. Each ml of Potassion will increase the concentration of potassium (“[K+]”) in 1 US-gallon (3.785 L) of water by approximately 21 ppm. If the initial [K+] in the aquarium is below 390 ppm, add this product at the maximum rate of 10 ml per 20 US-gallons daily until the potassium concentration measures between 390 – 410 ppm, then dose daily or weekly as needed (see below). Always try to maintain the [K+] within a range of +/-10 ppm. To determine the dosing rate of this product once the desired [K+] has been acquired, measure the daily rate of potassium uptake (i.e. the decrease in potassium) in your aquarium by measuring the [K+] at the same time each day over a one- to two-week period. To determine the daily dosing rate (preferable to weekly dosing) for potassium maintenance: estimate the volume of water in the entire aquarium system; divide the daily decrease in [K+] by 21; multiply this number by the volume of water in the system to get the daily dosage required (ml) to maintain a stable [K+]. Daily dosing maintains a more stable [K+] (and more natural environment) than dosing weekly, in which the [K+] spikes just after dosing and then gradually decreases throughout the course of the week.

  • AF Amino Mix

    $13.00$34.00

Supplement containing concentrated amino acids crucial for corals’ healthy growth.

Usage of strong skimmers in marine aquariums frequently leads to amino acids deficiencies and water sterilization. The low content of nutrients causes reduced pale coloring and even bleaching of corals.

AF Amino Mix completes water with all the necessary amino acids, thus prevents corals from bleaching and boosts their colors. The unique composition of AF Amino Mix is based, among others, on biotin, alanine, glutamine, leucine, lysine and serine. Carefully selected set of amino acids increases the amount of zooxanthellae which support the production of photosynthetic pigments such as chlorophyll. Thus, Amino Mix not only boosts coloration, but also improves the quality of photosynthesis. As a result corals derive more energy from the light, stay in perfect condition and grow faster. Regular use of AF Amino Mix improves immunity and noticeably accelerates corals’ growth.

    Dosage:

1 drop per 100 l (27 US gal) of water every other day after lights out. Do not dilute. Do not mix together with other products in one container. The product can be dosed by a dosing pump, provided it dispenses with drops. Once opened store in the fridge, if the temperature exceeds 24°C.

All coral supplements have a recommended dosage of 1 drop per 100 l of water, though, it’s important that each aquarium is different and the dosage may vary depending on the coral cast. We recommend starting dosing foods and supplements from half of the dose (even ¼) and observing the corals and their reactions to the administered food. Once the aquarium shows no sign of overdose, we recommend increasing dosage to the target dose. In order to facilitate the food absorption, SPS and LPS corals should be fed after the light is out. Corals such as Zoanthus, Ricordea and other mushroom corals should be fed during the day. In order to ensure the best nutrients absorption, all supplements and foods for corals should be dispensed directly into the aquarium. During the feeding we recommend switching off the skimmer for about an hour. Do not overtighten the screw, otherwise the cover might be damaged.

  • AF Build

    $13.00$34.00

AF Build accelerates the absorption of calcium and carbon which are crucial for the development of hard corals. By providing the corals with all the necessary ingredients, it facilitates and accelerates calcification, favourably affecting the growth rate. In addition, AF Build raises the pH level in reef aquariums. By keeping the pH at a proper, constant level, it additionally promotes coral growth. Long-term pH level aberrations result with slower calcification, inhibition of limestone algae growth and in extreme cases may completely stop the calcification process. Regular usage of AF Build prevents unfavourable fluctuations of pH levels and, by balancing the parameters in the aquarium, it improves the clarity of water and supports the growth of corals. Due to its unique properties, AF Build reduces the amount of lower-order algae and inhibits the growth of pathogenic cyanobacteria. Decomposing food may be one of the causes of the drop in pH, therefore AF Build should be used during intensive coral feeding, especially when using a highly nutritional AF Energy supplement. AF Build contains: iodides, carbonates, calcium.

Dosage: 1 drop per 100 l (27 US gal) of water every other day after lights out. Shake before use. Once opened store in the fridge, if the temperature exceeds 24°C.

  • AF Component 1+ 2+ 3+ (3x 5L Bottle)

    $83.00

Chemical composition of Component 1+2+3+ is based on the method developed by H. Balling. The formula has been fine tuned in our lab and enriched with trace elements that are fundamental for maintaining marine aquarium organisms in good form. As a result we have composed 3 fluids that are intended for dosing in equal amounts on regular basis. Component 1+2+3+ is designed to fulfil coral demands not only in terms of Magnesium and Calcium, but also in terms of other elements which require careful and systematic dosing, but are notoriously difficult to assess.

Dosage: needs to be adjusted according to the consumption of macro-nutrients, and based on critical water parameters like Calcium, Magnesium and KH. If one or two parameters are still not balanced- we recommend to continue with administering equal doses of each component, and take advantage of one of our additives (Calcium, Magnesium, KH Buffer) to restore desired level(s).

In order to maintain adequate amount of trace elements in aquarium water, both Magnesium and Calcium levels need to be within recommended range (Ca 380-460 ppm, Mg 1180-1460 ppm).

Typical aquarium with average number of hard corals requires approximately 25ml of each component per 100 l (27 US gal) of water daily.

Component 1+ contains: Ca, Sr, Ba, Co, Mn, Cu, Fe, Zn, Ni, Cr. (Component 1+ contains 18 000 ppm Ca. 25 ml dissolved in 100 l/27 US gal raises Ca by 4,5 ppm).

    Component 2+ contains: NaHCO3, F, I. (Component 2+ contains 2 500 dkh/l. 25 ml dissolved in 100 l/27 US gal raises KH by 0,65 dKH (Alk: 0,23 meg/l)).

Component 3+ contains: Mg, Reef Mineral Salt, K and B. (Component 3+ contains 3 300 ppm Mg. 25 ml dissolved in 100 l/27 US gal raises Mg by 0,38 ppm).

Component 3 contains Reef Mineral Salt which is necessary for stabilization of aquarium parameters. How does Reef Mineral Salt work?

  • AF Component A

    $12.00$45.00

Component A is designed to correct minor deficiencies of strontium and barium in marine aquariums. The unique formula was created based on the same strontium and barium ratio as natural seawater. Skimmer and filtration media tend to remove trace elements from the water of closed aquarium system, making micro nutrients supplementation necessary. Due to the perfect balance of elements Component A allows creating conditions almost identical with natural sea water. Strontium supports the formation of coral skeletal tissue and improves the absorption of calcium. It also supports the growth of soft corals. Safe concentration of the preparation minimizes the chance of micro nutrients overdose, therefore Component A can also be used by novice aquarists.

Dosage: in mixed-reef aquariums 5 ml per 100 l of water once a week. The dose can also be adjusted to the calcium consumption – 1 ml for every 20 ppm/100 l of water. In aquariums run with Balling method – 20 ml/1 l Calcium solution. When using Components A, B, C a 5-minute time interval should be kept between each dose.

Do not mix or store components in one container.

Product for aquarium use only. Store in a cool place away from the light. Keep away from children. Do not overtighten the screw, otherwise the cover might be damaged.
